Introduction:

Praise be to Godو the educational program “Prayer as a Way of Life” was successfully conducted by the Yemenia Women & Families Association of Calgary during January 2026, with wonderful participation from children and their families.

This initiative was part of the Family & Child Well-Being Program, a one-month prevention-focused project designed to support children’s emotional, behavioral, and social development through structured routines, physical activity, and parent education. The program aimed to present prayer in a simple, engaging, and meaningful way—helping children connect with it as an essential part of their daily lives.

An Inspiring Learning Experience:

Throughout the sessions, children learned about:

  • The importance of prayer and why we perform it

  • How prayer positively influences behavior and character

  • The value of responsibility, commitment, and time management

  • The correct way to perform prayer is through simple, practical application

The content was delivered using a variety of interactive methods, including storytelling, group activities, and engaging educational games.

 Enriching Activities:

To enhance the experience and maintain excitement, the program included a range of creative and recreational activities, such as:

  • Canvas painting and face painting

  • Hands-on crafts, including weaving a small prayer mat

  • Cupcake decorating

  • Physical and fun activities such as swimming and short outings

These activities helped create a joyful learning environment where children could absorb values naturally.

Program Highlights:

The program was held across multiple locations and featured diverse activities:

  • A strong and engaging start combining learning and fun

  • Continued sessions filled with interactive and creative experiences

  • A well-rounded conclusion bringing together education, creativity, and enjoyment
